For Sale – 1997 Prout ’45 Catamaran (owners/family layout) – Mirounga Leonina

Available to view in Bequia from mid-February, or Grenada from mid April, by arrangement.

We’re asking US$215,000 for this fantastic example of a relatively rare boat – there are many Prouts in existence and they’re all great, but the ’45 is a bit more exclusive (only 33 in total).

Some items on the lists below are marked with a * – these are toys and tools and general extras that make life aboard easier and more fun, but are not part of the core offering. If for any reason we settle on a price less than we expect, we reserve the right not to include these items.

We purchased Mirounga in 2021 from her previous owner, who owned her from new. She’d been well taken care of and was ready to go (which was great as so were we) – that said, we’ve made a few improvements along the way to make her even better. We didn’t know if we’d be out for a year, or forever, but for now, we’re planning a return to the real world as and when we sell – any time from Spring 2022.

Family Layout with four double berths and two showers / WCs. Comfortable for two adult couples and four children or three adult couples with the fourth double bunk being used for storage. With just the two of us onboard, she’s been ridiculously spacious! Mirounga also has copious amounts of storage in both cupboards/drawers and lockers.

The upgrades we’ve made (see details below) have meant that we never have to worry about running out of power or water (no ‘boat showers’ for us), and we can keep cool and comfortable. Having spent time on newer catamarans, we’ve found the Prout to be solid, stable (less likely to roll on anchor) and very spacious feeling. We’ve had guests onboard who have been over 6ft tall, with no headroom/bunk length issues. All in, we’ve been incredibly happy to be Mirounga’s owners and want to see her continue to be loved and enjoyed as a liveaboard.

We’re able to run items like our washing machine and air fryer without worrying about power consumption.
